At first, Micro Center seems like a PC enthusiast's dream, but the lack of quality service has really hindered my enjoyment of shopping here. There are frequently multiple employees talking among themselves while shoppers wait for attention, especially in the central bar area in the back. Some employees are very knowledgeable and some don't know the difference between a 3.5 mm cable and a USB cable. There are ALWAYS long lines for checkout and customer service. If there are more than 3-4 people ahead of you in line at customer service, be prepared to wait for up to 40-50 minutes. The implementation of employee stickers has really hurt service in the past few years. I've seen employees go out of their way to track down shoppers just to stick their stickers on all of their products, whether they helped or not, and I've seen employees not help at all if they thought they couldn't get some credit for the purchase. Just the other day, I saw an employee placing stickers on random items in a back aisle while no one was looking to try to get credit for future purchases. I dread coming here because of the awful service, but this place literally has everything you could need electronics-wise.

I usually love Micro Center, but they really dropped the ball for me today and caused me to write this review. I put in a order pick up request after store hours, and then when they opened the next day, they said that my reservation was cancelled. No problem, I knew this was something that could happen so I gave the store a call for some clarity. They said that it was a computer error and it looks like I submitted the request twice so it caused the computer to say that the item I wanted wasn't in stock, but it really was. I understand mistakes happen, but as I pull in to the parking lot , I get a call from an employee stating that the previous employee I spoke to messed up and the item I requested was actually NOT in stock. Frustrated, I went to the Fairfax location since it was only 25 minutes away, and they fulfilled my request with no issues. I'm very disappointed in this Micro Center and they need to work on their employees' competence since apparently some of them don't know how to read. I was planning on getting a new computer from them, but now I'll think twice before putting my money here.

Only downfall is that in-store Rockville can be a challenge to get service/help on the floor.

Love the products and quality! Their warranty program is excellent and they are great about accepting claims!

Fantastic experience In the Computer department with Mr Harvey. His customer service was excellent. If you are in the Rockville MD area, and visiting the Micro Center store to purchase a computer. Make sure you ask for Mr. Harvey.
